Fuel/Lube Operator 


Currently Baffinland is looking for a number of Fuel/Lube Operators. Reporting into the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will be operating fuel/lube delivery vehicles and refueling and lubricating all ground fuel equipment.


This is a permanent position based at site with a 2 week Fly-In, Fly-Out rotation

Main Accountabilities

    • Refuel and lubricate all ground fuel equipment (mobile and heavy duty) in the field in a cost-effective, safe, and environmentally friendly manner to maximize equipment availability      
    • Ensure the fuel and lube routes are covered daily     
    • Ensure that personal protective equipment is worn and safety standards are adhered to at all times
    • Enter detailed reports on refueling and lubricating into the preventative and predictive maintenance database prior to the end of each shift       
    • Maintain the fuel and lube trucks and equipment on a continuous basis including keeping it clean and free of safety hazards
    • Ensure the fuel and lube trucks are serviced as scheduled
    • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
    • Perform minor maintenance tasks, as requested by the Supervisor
    • Provide cross-shift employee with all relevant information
    • Provide verbal or written reports about maintenance, safety, or environmental issues to the Supervisor on a daily basis
    • Participate in meetings and provide suggestions that contribute to safety and productivity and improve processes and equipment

Main Qualifications

      • Literacy and numeracy skills required for the position
      • Grade 12 high school or general equivalency diploma is an asset
      • One year of related fuel and lubrication truck operating experience is preferred
