We are currently looking for our next great employee. Baffinland Iron Mines is seeking an Crusher Operator to join our team on a permanent basis.

 

This position is located at site with a 2 week Fly-In, Fly-Out rotation.

 

Crusher Operator

 

Currently Baffinland Iron Mines is seeking a Fixed Term (6 Months Contract) Crusher Operator Level 2 to join their team on the Mary River Project. We are seeking a dynamic individual who will be responsible for operating Heavy Duty equipment in accordance with quality, safety and efficiency standards. Thus meeting the objectives of the mine while maximizing the economic mining life of the Mines through prudent recovery of existing known resources. This position reports to the Crusher Supervisor.

Main Accountabilities

  • Perform all tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
  • To safely operate various heavy equipment units as have been trained and certified on.
  • To follow all procedures and policies as set by the company.
  • To fill out all forms required for daily operation of an assigned unit.
  • To follow the Safety Plan as specified by the company and to accept the training to do so.
  • Perform pre and post-operational checks of equipment as well as assisting and performing the basic care and maintenance on equipment as may be required.

 

Environmental/Physical Demands: 

  • Work in extreme low temperatures down to minus 40 Celsius.
  • Physically able to use all standard hand tools and lifting up to 25 kg.
  • Operation of equipment for 12 hour long daily shifts for a two week period.

Main Qualifications

  • Has been assessed by the Company as proficient in the use of 1 different primary units within the mine including Excavator, dozer, grader, rigid frame haul truck, drill, loader.
  • Must have experience operating heavy Euipment units.
  • Applicants must Have the relevant operator licenses.
  • Must possess a valid form of government issued photo identification.
  • Crusher Feeding experience would be an asset.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Work well within a team environment and be self-motivated.
  • Incorporates HS&E concepts into work activities and demonstrates concern for others health & safety (co-workers, clients, and sub trades).
