Baffinland Iron Mines is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Sustainable Development team on a permanent basis for the Mary River Project. We are seeking a dynamic individual who will be working in support with the various operations departments. Duties will include answering phones, transferring calls, faxing, photocopying, interoffice mail and other administrative tasks.

Main Accountabilities

Responsibilities:

 All the following duties may be asked by any department at Mary River and Milne sites :

  • Conduct or assist with SAP entries, timesheet entries, and purchase order requisitions
  • Assist in creating, distributing, or inputting production, equipment, and fleet data
  • Assist with any personnel scheduling
  • Ensure contractor spreadsheets, timesheets, equipment information is entered into data bases and/or forwarded to Oakville Administrative Assistants
  • Assist Travel Administrator when required - travel and personnel schedule
  • Assisting with preparation documentation and correspondence as
  • Maintain a well-organized filing
  • Mail, filing, photocopying, faxing, scanning and small
  • Coordinating between departments and operating units in resolving day-to-day administrative and operational
  • Scheduling and coordinating meetings, interviews, events and other similar
  • Preparing business correspondence (often using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation computer software).
  • General office administrative
  • Preparing meeting minutes, meeting notes and internal support
  • Assist with translation and interpretation of departmental information into Inuktitut and English.
  • Plus all other duties assigned

Main Qualifications


• Business Administration or Office Administration Diploma
• Proficiency in other administrative duties and Microsoft Office Suite
• Data entry and analysis experience
• SAP Experience is Required
