Currently Baffinland is looking for experienced Inventory & Master Data Analyst to join their team at our Mary River site. 

 

Main Accountabilities

  • Ensure proper and complete documentation for working and audit purposes
  • Perform Inventory system analysis, periodic reviews and reporting.
  • Work closely with the Site Superintendents in proper management of inventory information.
  • Interface with Warehouse Team in inventory movement and clean-up of inventory data.
  • Perform MRP reviews and Inventory Analysis for both mine and port sites.
  • Review and adjust Inventory levels based on consumption trend and requirement to meet the demand and to minimize stock out risk.
  • Look after the opportunities for continuous improvement, process improvement activities for Inventory management.
  • Works closely with respective Inventory Buyers in developing outline line agreements in SAP system, Managing PR and POs.
  • Play a vital role in implementation of process alignment team meetings and to share knowledge with site teams on exception messages.
  • Work on Inventory Optimization processes and help identifying material standardization and utilization opportunities with end users.
  • Provide remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow-moving and excess stock.
  • Support Warehouse Supervisors in physical stock counts of critical stock, high turn-over material, consumables and ensures Inventory accuracy is maintained at all times. Also help them in reconciliation and resolution of inventory transaction variances in system on regular basis.
  • Develop good working relationship with site maintenance and process teams to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Play a vital role in implementation of processes like; Reservation, Rotable Spares, Consignment Stock, Physical Inventory, BOM creation, Critical Spares, Off-site receiving and Returns to vendor.
  • Performs data cleansing tasks in compliance with Master Data Management governance with appropriate data cleansing approach.
  • Ensure master data adheres to standards, is complete and highly accurate at time of request and after creation.
  • Should have strong knowledge in naming conventions, with a background in parts terminology in the mining sector.
  • Validate and evaluate KPI, statistics for master data records with highest level of data integrity, accuracy and completeness, monitor master data created.
  • Review of existing catalogue in coordination with site maintenance team to bring standardization to material master.
  • Update material masters with technical specification, drawings, MSDS and attach pictures and data sheets as and where appropriate.
  • Produce reports to demonstrate the effective management of master data including statistics with comparison to historic and industry comparators.
  • Update material master including info records, source lists, special procurement type, min/max, location changes, deletions, and surplus.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement systems (such as SAP, Ellipse or Oracle) with extensive knowledge of SAP MM Module management.
  • Engage in supply chain Continuous Improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office with high level understanding of MS Excel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Main Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education in one or more of the following disciplines preferred: Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering; and intermediate level status with the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC).
  • Level III status with the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC).
  • Enterprise Asset Management software training.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
  • 3-5 years of Inventory Analysis experience in a mining facility or similarly-sized industrial operation.
  • 2+ years of Master Data formation and maintenance experience in industrial operation.
  • Issue Analysis and Problem Solving skills.
  • Time Management and ability to manage Disagreements/ Assertion Skills.
