    Baffinland Iron Mines is currently seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Technician to join their team .This position reports in to the Logistics Manager.


    This is a full time position based at site with a 2 week Fly-In, Fly-Out rotation.

    Main Accountabilities

    • To be responsible on a shift by shift basis for the storage/movement of product at lowest cost while meeting quality standards. Perform quality checks on the equipment and product. Perform all tasks to a high standard to meet Standard Operating Procedures and Codes of Conduct.
    • Achieve exceptional customer service level requirements.
    • Liaise with production, maintenance and logistics personnel to build strong relationships between all parties and the logistics team.
    • Be the first line of problem solving and fault solutions within logistics dept.
    • Demonstrate and promote a proactive commitment to health & safety, well-being and the environment whilst complying with all laws and company policies
    • Communicate effectively with warehouse coordinator, warehouse team and production management to ensure the long term goals and targets are met. Support companywide initiatives to improve service levels to our customers. Participate in the development of new systems and processes required for the site. Be an active functional member of the warehouse team. Co-operation and input will be required in relation to team performance, site growth and planning meetings.

    • A Health and Safety Policy is in place within Baffinland. Instructions regards safety given by the Health and Safety representatives must be followed at all times.

    Main Qualifications

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
    • Must have good communication skills; written and verbal

    • Forklift Operation
    • A minimum of 1-3 years progressive experience in related roles is preferred. 
    • Certification through Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) is also desirable.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

    • Working knowledge of procurement systems (such as Ellipse, Oracle or SAP)
