    SAP Manager


    Reporting to Head of IT, this position is responsible for overseeing the implementation, support and maintenance of SAP ERP system across the company.


    Note: This role will be based out of our head office in Oakville but will involve some travel to our mine site.

    Main Accountabilities

    • Manage a team of highly skilled internal and external SAP consultants for sustained system support to meet business requirements.
    •  Lead periodic review and assessment of current business processes versus the required functionality, and initiate proposals to modify or replace processes as necessary.
    •  Facilitate business escalation issues and engage the appropriate technical support.
    •  Develop, document and perform management testing of IT controls involving user access, change management and system controls to conform with best practice and audit requirements. Support all internal and external audit requirements relating to SAP system administration.
    •  Accountable for the high quality and timely production of all deliverables.
    •  Facilitate the overall delivery of SAP projects on time, on budget, and on scope in accordance with policy and project management best practice.
    •  Proactively monitor the project plan (milestones and critical path dates), identifying and resolving issues and assessing variances.
    •  Communicate with all levels of the organization and interact with multiple stakeholders to achieve agreement on scope and schedule of projects
    •  Working with the business leads manage a full RFP process, software evaluations, negotiation of vendor service contracts through to application implementation.
    •  Understand application costing and perform on-going review of application costs against planned profile.
    •  Input into annual planning and costing cycles for both operational and investment costs.
    •  Identifying resource requirements, select staff, set expectations, and evaluate assignment performance. Provide work direction and leadership to assigned project and support teams, including scheduling, assignment of work and review of project efforts.
    •  Provide the team with constructive feedback as it pertains to performance; Motivate a team of technical support consultants through coaching, performance feedback, career and training development plans

    Main Qualifications

    • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
    • 7+ years as a SAP Support or Project Manager or Consultant, with responsibilities including, design and analysis, configuration, development of specifications, system support and full cycle release testing.
    • 10+ years of experience in SAP cross modular functionality with the design, configuration and support of the Finance and Controlling (FICO) Material Management (MM) Plant Maintenance (PM), Project systems (PS), Asset Accounting (FA) and HR (Human Resources) modules in the full life-cycle methodology of a project.
    • At least two (2) full end to end full-cycle SAP implementations.
    • Experience in understanding and development of business/technical strategy and communicate these needs to the governing body to ensure projects and services are delivered as agreed.
    • Professional designations preferred (ITIL, PMP).
    • Application support background, with experience in managing priorities and workloads and coordinating the resolution of issues across teams.
    • Experience of working within an ITIL (or equivalent) framework and processes with successful outcomes within a global SAP/service management environment.
    • Excellent demonstrated ability to scale up and down from the “big picture” right down to the most granular level.
    • Exceptional communication skills
    • The ability to appreciate and understand how to deal with different cultural values and sensitivities
    • Decision and problem solving skills at the root cause and complexity level.
    • Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis
    • Willingness to work out of office hours to support production issues.
