    The Finance Administrative Assistant is an office professional responsible for supporting the Finance, Procurement and IT team by performing administrative and office management duties.  This role will also often serve as the main point of contact for company guests and external parties conducting business with the Baffinland Finance team.

    Main Accountabilities

    • Provide a superior level of administrative support to the Finance, Procurement and IT team
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workflow to ensure all deadlines are met, and work under pressure in a fast-paced dynamic environment
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to take initiative and attend to detail and follow-up
    • Handle highly sensitive and confidential matters relating to the daily activity of the department
    • Coordinate and manage department and CFO's schedules, make travel arrangements, schedule meetings, and book conference calls
    • Draft presentation and written materials for correspondence with external parties (using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software).
    • Develop an understanding of the organization and its business activities
    • Create purchase order requisitions, code and process invoices, process expense reports
    • Set up and maintain well-organized filing system
    • Assist with preparation of weekly/monthly reports
    • Coordinate team events as required
    • General office administrative duties
    • Others duties as assigned

    Main Qualifications

    • 10 years’ experience in similar type role
    • Work experience and familiarity with finance related including purchase requisitions, payroll, invoicing, accounts payable, etc… an asset
    • SAP Experience is Required
    • Proficiency in other administrative duties and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Data entry and analysis experience
    • Mining experience an asset
