    The IIBA Manager is a critical role leading the implementation and coordination of the IIBA on behalf of Baffinland.  Reporting to the Director Corporate Social Responsibility this position will be based in Iqaluit or Oakville and be responsible for overseeing the daily administration and implementation of the IIBA.  The role will support strong relationships and alignment between the QIA and Baffinland as well as key stakeholders.

     

     

    Main Accountabilities

    • Ensure appropriate reporting and monitoring systems are implemented and continuously improved
    • Prepare and coordinate IIBA reports and monitoring requirements
    • Act as Baffin land’s liaison with the QIA IIBA Coordinator
    • Actively participate in the IIBA Management (as co-chair) and Executive Committees
    • Supervise staff and project teams to ensure effective IIBA implementation
    • Support the implementation and development of action plans for IIBA activities relating to areas such as business development, contracting opportunities, environmental activities, training and development, recruitment, Inuit employment and Inuktitut in the workplace.
    • Assist in the development of annual budget requirements for the IIBA
    • Provide support to Baffinland team members generally on the implementation of the IIBA

    Main Qualifications

    • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in business management, Human Resources, community relations
    • Fluency in English and Inuktitut
    • Extensive knowledge of Inuit culture and Inuit communities
    • Demonstrated strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written)
    • Ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders
    • Experience in reporting to a corporate and/or not-for-profit board of directors and experience in working in committee structures
    • Working knowledge of MS Office products
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
    • Creative problem solving skills – a solutions oriented collaborator
    • A member in good standing of the QIA or other Nunavut Regional Inuit Association
    • Working knowledge of MS Office products
