    Currently Baffinland is looking for HR Administrator to join their team on the Mary River Project. 


    Reporting to the HR Manager, the principal mandate will be to provide clerical support to the on-site HR team as they carry out various tasks associated with full cycle employee and training records as well as other related HR responsibilities at the Mary River site.  Provide support in the area of Inuit recruitment and associated documentation. In this capacity, the successful applicant will be required to write and communicate with employees, control documents and data processes, follow up on files and provide general office support duties.  

    Main Accountabilities

    • Coordination of Inuit recruiting and related duties;
    • Update the Inuit recruitment database and provide statistics/analysis as required;
    • Regular maintenance on the Training employee tracking matrix;
    • Coordinate and set up Orientation for new hires;
    • Creates, updates and maintains various spreadsheets;
    • Initiates documentation for work related injuries;
    • Follow up on employee absences;
    • Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
    • Ensure strict confidentiality of employment records and employee information;
    • Follow up with new hires on missing documentation;
    • Assist with documentation management and filing on a weekly basis;
    • Assist with responding to employee & candidate inquiries;
    • All other duties assigned

    Main Qualifications

    • Minimum 1 year of Human Resources or Office Administration experience;
    • Prior experience with SAP or similar HRIS preferred;
    • Excellent attention to detail, accurate, analytical, highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in order to meet deadlines;
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
    • Proficient with MS Office software, particularly Word and Excel
    • Familiarity with North Baffin communities
    • Provides interpreting between unilingual employees and HR staff.
    • Candidate should be able to read, write and communicate both in Inuktitut and English using North Baffin dialect.
