    Baffinland is currently looking for a Project Manager to join our team to assist in the management of sustaining capital and other operational projects at the Mary River Mine and Milne Port.  This position is located at site on a 2 week Fly-In Fly-Out rotation.

    Main Accountabilities

    • Define the scope of work for sustaining capital and other operational projects for the Mary River Mine and Milne Port.
    • Develop project execution plans and schedules in consultation with stakeholders to minimize impact on operations and production.
    • Develop estimated costs for projects.
    • Manage the execution of projects within scope, budget, schedule and quality constraints and in compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
    • Management of contractors and consultants.
    • Liaison with all project stakeholders.
    • Daily, weekly and monthly project reporting.
    • Complete post project reviews.
    • Participate in development, implementation and adherence to safe work procedures and promote high safety, health and environmental awareness and compliance to all standards.
    • Ensure proper field level risk assessments are performed and documented.
    • Identify project risks and develop/implement mitigation plans.
    • Contribute to the implementation of new tools/systems/processes and provide guidance, auditing and analysis support to management.
    • Support development of the department's annual execution plan and develops area specific, goals and objectives.
    • Write AFEs (Approval for Expenditure) for sustaining capital and operational projects.
    • Effective communication and coordination with colleagues including those on opposite rotation as well as colleagues based in the corporate office.
    • Other duties as required.

    Main Qualifications

    • 10 years of mining or construction project management experience
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification considered an asset
    • Professional Engineer preferred, registered in Ontario or Nunavut (or ability to register)
    • Proficient with Microsoft Project or other project management software
    • Previous Arctic and remote site experience
    • Experience with SAP considered an asset
    • Experience with AUTOCAD or similar software considered an asset
    • Experience with Lean Management (5s) or Six-Sigma considered an asset
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
    • Influential leadership skills.
    • Client focused.
