    Baffinland is currently looking for a Mobile Maintenance Parts Coordinator for our Operation. 

     

    Please note: This is a permanent position requiring a 2 week Fly-in, Fly-out rotation.  

    Main Accountabilities

    • Performing all tasks safely with capability of performing and following all procedures and policies set out by the employer in a shop and arctic field environment. A good majority of the time will be spent
    • Identification, monitoring, storage, organizing, staging, tracking and distribution of all parts used for maintenance purposes.
    • Performing inventory counts and restocking of all parts, hydrocarbons, inventory and consumables as
    • Promoting Preventative maintenance and good housekeeping practices with strong organizational and computer skills with strong emphasis on SAP, Cat SIS, and Microsoft
    • Strong focus on housekeeping in the field, in the shop and any other work areas. Cleaning work areas and equipment as
    • Actively participates in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives and Must be a leader amongst tradespeople to set the example of proper housekeeping and parts organization.
    • Work with procurement team to organize, order, receive and initiate inventory requests for all parts
    • Trained and fully certified, experienced and competent in the use of Cranes and Boom trucks, Knuckle booms/Hiabs/Palfinger Cranes, fork lifts of various sizes, telehandlers with associated attachments, Hydraulic cylinder handlers, and skidsteers. Certificate of Competency
    • Performs high quality work at all times with strong attention to
    • Communicate with the maintenance planners on parts Responsible for reliably staging and storing all parts for tasks being performed in workshop and in field environments. Perform pickups and deliveries as required.
    • Actively promote cooperation between maintenance, contractors and all other departments in the Work with all on site contractors to organize pick ups, parts deliveries and storage as required.
    • Identify opportunities for the continuous improvement of maintenance processes with an emphasis on parts storage/staging and
    • Complete reports and perform record keeping as required, ensuring accuracy of reported
    • Communicate effectively internally within the department as well as with all other sections and
    • Parts Coordinators work shift to cover continuous operations. Shifts can be Days, Afternoons or Nights. Parts Coordinators must ensure effective communication with all supervisors and Lead Hands.

    Main Qualifications

    • Certification in a related maintenance trade with experience with parts management and organization in a remote arctic environment with camp
    • Proven track record in safe work practices and quality
    • Ability to work alone and unsupervised in remote
    • Focused, energetic and organized with superior attention to detail and a sense of
    • Excellent organization, inventory management and parts kitting
    • Motivated and hard working with a professional
    • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions and to interpret technical manuals, Cat SIS, parts books and to identify parts specifications as
    • Language: Speak English, Read English, Write English (Inuktitut would be an asset).
    • Motivated to work under harsh Arctic
    • Previous mining experience is an
    • SAP maintenance systems experience and efficiency
    • Valid Canadian Driver’s license to operate vehicles in Nunavut
    • Valid boom truck, knuckle boom, crane and forklift operation certificate of qualification  
    • Qualification for Post-Secondary Education: Secondary School Diploma / Parts person qualification Must Have Qualification: Certifications for operating lifting equipment / Parts person qualification
