    We are currently looking for our next great employee. Baffinland Iron Mines is seeking a knowledgeable Water Treatment Operator to join our team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the selected candidate will be responsible for operating the water treatment facilities at project sites including potable water plant and sewage treatment plant


    Please note: this is a permanent position requiring a 2 week Fly - In, Fly-Out Rotation

    Main Accountabilities

    • Ensure that water produced in the potable water plants meets or exceeds potable water criteria
    • Test product and record results daily including quality, purity and volume
    • Maintain log of all maintenance performed including filter changes and calibration of instruments
    • Ensure proper operation of the sewage treatment plants and that the effluent meets or exceed the discharge criteria
    • Test effluent and record results and volumes daily
    • Maintain log of all maintenance work performed including calibration of instruments
    • Maintain spreadsheet with daily volumes treated and discharged
    • Operate Site Services Equipment as assigned by the Site Services Supervisor to support operations
    • Load, unload and service aircraft under the instructions of ramp master or designate
    • Assist in waste management and other duties as required

    Main Qualifications

    • Water System Operator Class 2 Certification
    • 5 years’ experience in operating a water treatment facilities as the lead operator treating potable and waste water
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite to prepare reports and spread sheets
    • Ability to perform tests on the effluent or product to confirm quality
    • Class “G” driver’s license
    • Preference for applicant to have construction equipment license including crane
    • Arctic Experience will be preferred
    • Remote fly in fly out experience is preferred
