Main Accountabilities

  • Provide general IT Help Desk technical support and troubleshooting for all users
  • Perform intake and triage of requests, performing assignments of tickets to technicians
  • Monitor tickets for trends or high impact issues and escalate as needed
  • Maintain inventory of all IT assets and provide reorder information as needed
  • Provision phones and voicemail systems
  • Provision of Baffinland cellular phones when requested by Oakville IT Technicians
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems on all user equipment including workstations, printers, etc.
  • Lifting and transportation of moderately heavy object such as workstations, servers, etc.
  • Receive shipments of materials destine for Mary and Milne
  • Ship damaged materials off site when necessary
  • Create purchase requisitions
  • Move, provision and install equipment
  • Provision new equipment for end users following all Baffinland standards
  • Install and maintain structured cabling
  • Install and maintain equipment mounted on towers and masts
  • Create, Remove, Update and Delete accounts and access in any system as approved by IT superintendents
  • Participate in project work as assigned
  • Maintain all Baffinland conference facilities, cleanup and repair as needed
  • Organize, clean and generally maintain all IT storage facilities
  • Dispose of waste electronics and shipping materials
  • Enforce Baffinland security standards and policies
  • Conduct all work safely and in accordance with Baffinland safety procedures
  • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community and environmental protection and take action to ensure that unsafe practices or non-compliant behaviors do not occur.
  • Operate equipment (Man Lift, Skid Steer and Boom Truck).

Maintain all IT facilities on site including comm. towers, switch cabinets and server rooms.
