We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analyst to join our finance team. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and a passion for contributing to the strategic decision-making process within a growing organization. This role is based in our Oakville, Ontario office.

Main Accountabilities

• Collaborate, assist various departments and FP&A Manager to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Analyze historical financial data and industry trends to provide insights into future financial performance.
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
• Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic planning, scenario analysis, and decision-making processes.
• Analyze and interpret financial results to provide actionable insights to management.
• Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports for leadership, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in reports.
• Evaluate the financial impact of various business initiatives and provide recommendations for optimizing profitability.
• Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for cost reduction or process improvement.
• Respond to ad-hoc analysis requests from senior management, providing insights and data-driven recommendations.
• Conduct scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Work closely with departments such as operations, sales, and marketing to understand their financial needs and provide analytical support.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration between finance and other business units.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the FP&A function.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in financial analysis.

 

 

Main Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis roles.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial planning software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Professional certification such as CFA, CPA, or MBA
