Reporting to the Heavy Duty Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, the Heavy Duty Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the short and long term maintenance activities to enable the timely execution of the maintenance   schedule of the assigned fleet. They will focus on reducing mechanical downtime and ensuring equipment availability to meet production targets. The role will be the liaison between maintenance execution and planning, the operations teams, and reliability for the safe execution of quality work that aligns with the established work management

processes.

Main Accountabilities

• Coordinate and conducts regular workplace housekeeping audits and safety interactions within their assigned areas;

• Creates an environment that promotes teamwork, innovation and collaboration, and actively seeks feedback from other departments and employees for continuous improvement;

• Provides a balance between maintenance and production requirements and work to achieve them by understanding risks and opportunities weighed against potential value creation;

• Monitors the execution of the weekly schedule to meet operations and maintenance targets to ensure availability of equipment and work order completion attainment;

• Understands and applies the approved company maintenance work management system and ensuring compliance to planned and scheduled work orders;

• Audits and provides feedback on the quality of maintenance notifications and work orders to planning and maintenance execution teams;

• Liaisons with planning on non-emergency and break-in work order requests to ensure critical maintenance work is completed in a timely manner;

• Assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of new maintenance procedures, processes and technology;

• Liaison with reliability to resolve chronic and repeat failures with equipment, provide status updates on maintenance efforts and gather feedback;

• Reviews reliability equipment strategies with reliability and works with planning for any updates to maintenance PM’s;

• Oversees maintenance processes in order to reduce mechanical downtime;

• Liaisons with Operations teams to provide solutions and day-to-day support to increase equipment uptime;

• Provides regular status reports to the operations and maintenance teams;

• Assist in the development of maintenance budgets, cost control & reporting;

• Supports the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives by coordinating required resources as required;

• Provides technical feedback when required to procurement, inventory and reliability;

Main Qualifications

• Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Certification
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office and SAP applications
• Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Mechanical Technologist certificate (preferred)

 

Experience:

• From 3 years to less than 5 years Leadership experience
• From 5 years to less than 7 years Heavy Duty Mobile Equipment maintenance experience in a mining or industrial setting
