Reporting to the Site Services superintendent(s), the coordinator will be responsible to oversee the operational activities within the site services department. The role will involve supporting logistics and general activities and provide technical support for the waste and water activities to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements. The position will liaison with various departments to coordinate services and activities. This role is based at our Mary River mine site in Nunavaut on a 3 week in and 3 week out rotation.
• Support supervisors with the coordination of various day to day activities
• Provide leadership and support on dedicated Site services projects as required
• Contribute to and develop site services procedures and processes to optimize team performance and improve efficiency
• Supports the delivery of the waste and water operational plan with supervisors
• Liaison with the maintenance team and housing maintainers to analysis recurring problems and propose solutions to improve equipment and building maintenance
• Liaison with other operational departments to ensure the planning and execution of site services activities to help drive costs and service improvements
• Liaison with Maintenance to prioritize maintenance activities for mobile equipment, camps and buildings
• Support Leadership team in the development of Capital applications for projects
• Work in collaboration with all other departments to develop or enhance water and waste management programs across the project site.
• Conducts regular field inspections and QA/QC monitoring of all water and waste facilities, infrastructure, processes and activities.
• Notify of any non-conformances in site services and assist in developing and implementing corrective actions.
• Support and participate in initiatives related to waste and water
• Support the site operations and environmental teams by providing data and completing reports.
• Participate and lead incident investigations as required
• Update and report out on weekly, monthly and annual KPI’s as required
• College diploma in Environmental Technician Program and/or Mechanical Technician Program
• 3-5 years of experience in Site Services supervision and/or monitoring specific to mining or construction industries
• Experience in the development or implementation of waste and water management programs would be considered an asset.
• Arctic experience
• Remote site experience
• Experience with potable water & waste water treatment systems
• Experience with Camp management
• Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, standards and effective industry practices.
• CMMS and SAP experience is considered an asset
• Knowledge of TDG / IMDG regulations
