Reporting to the Manager of Site Coordination, Supply and Logistics, the Logistics & Supply Superintendent is responsible for leading, coaching and mentoring warehouse supervisors and warehouse team for safe and effective operation of all site facilities including the warehouses, yards, and ports. The Superintendent is the key interface to the Operations for all requirements surrounding procurement, supply and logistics.
1. Demonstrate, lead, and develop a safety program that is measurable and engages the department to the highest standard of safety ownership. Investigate all injuries in the department and ensure that corrective actions reach the highest hierarchy of controls and are completed on time and verified.
2. Provide leadership to a team of direct reports by hiring, establishing objectives, providing performance feedback, and delivering disciplinary actions. Instil a team culture of high-performance, operational discipline, and accountability; and ensure effective communications across work areas, clarity of expectations and continuous review of performance measures to consistently deliver upon business objectives. Escalates developing issues and concerns to the Departmental Manager for consultation and advice to reach agreed interventions and solutions. Provide follow-up feedback on the effectiveness of solutions and change.
3. Ensure sufficient staffing, materials, and equipment is available for each rotation and projected project activities by reviewing and estimating requirements and presenting for approval.
4. Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPI’s) for the department. Ensure delivery of the KPIs by inspecting and evaluating work in progress on a quarterly basis. Identify any areas to be addressed and implement remedial actions. Identify opportunities for change and incorporate to deliver on operational objectives; Support, drive and monitor change initiatives
5. Develop and implement a one to two year business plan that is focused on continuous improvements, processes and procedures such as cost effective material handling & task list that focus on Safety, Continuity, and Productivity.
6. Participate in daily production meetings with operational stakeholders to ensure that Operation’s requirements for parts are met by expediting through procurement.
7. Responsible for the freight priority planning through liaising with the stakeholders and Valleyfield operations, for air and sea transportation. Responsible for building the freight plan, identifying the mode of transportation to site and building and presenting business cases through risk ratings for addition freight flights.
8. Develop a risk registry that identifies potential risk within Supply Chain, and develop mitigating action plans that lower the risk through compliance with risk management processes and practices.
9. Manage the department’s approved budget by reviewing monthly cost, mitigating and implementing action to stay or get back within the budget, approving expenditures, and reviewing processes to ensure compliance with company financial and governance policies, procedures, and reporting standards.

• Certified Mines Health & Safety Act Nunavut & Northwest Territories Level II Supervisor
• Certificate in First Aid & CPR/AED Level III
• Certified Supply Chain Logistic Professional (CITT) is and asset
• Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (S.C.M.P, C.P.M, C.P.P.) is an asset
• Certificate in 5 Whys Investigation is an asset
• Certificate in 5S or equivalent training experience.
• Minimum ten (10) years of experience in Supply and Logistics
• Minimum seven (7) years of supervision and/or Leadership experience
• Minimum three (3) years of experience with SAP (Materials Movement module)
• Experience as a Supervisor in an union environment
• Experience with budget planning and monthly cost review
• Experience with remote camp/fly-in, fly-out
• Experience in the Arctic is an asset
