Main Accountabilities

Preventive Maintenance Execution
• Perform scheduled PM services in accordance with OEM, site standards, and maintenance intervals
• Complete full-service tasks including:
• Engine oil and filter changes
• Hydraulic, transmission, and differential servicing
• Full equipment greasing to manufacturer specification
• Follow detailed PM checklists to ensure no steps are missed and all components are serviced correctly
• Verify correct fluids, lubricants, and filter types are used for each unit and application
• Maintain cleanliness during servicing to prevent contamination of systems
• Inspect and service hard-to-reach and critical lubrication points, ensuring full coverage
• Confirm equipment is safe and properly isolated prior to starting work (LOTO where required)
• Ensure all guarding, caps, and fittings are properly reinstalled after service
• Conduct post-service checks:
• Verify fluid levels
• Check for leaks
• Confirm equipment readiness for return to service Description
• Coordinate with operations to minimize downtime and ensure efficient service execution
• Work effectively in remote and extreme cold conditions, maintaining quality under pressure
• Take ownership of PM quality, not just completion, but doing it right the first time
Inspections & Defect Identification
• Conduct detailed visual and functional inspections during servicing
• Identify and report:
• Oil leaks, structural cracks, and abnormal wear
• Loose, damaged, or missing components
• Early signs of failure (heat, vibration, unusual noise)
• Raise accurate work orders with clear defect descriptions
• Communicate findings to supervisors and planners for timely repair scheduling
Fluid Management & Sampling
• Perform oil sampling (engine, hydraulic, powertrain) as per site program
• Ensure proper labeling, contamination control, and submission
• Monitor fluid conditions and escalate abnormal results
Component Servicing
• Replace and service:
• Oil, fuel, air, and hydraulic filters
• Breathers, strainers, and basic service components
• Assist mechanics with minor maintenance activities when required
Documentation & Systems
• Accurately complete:
• Work orders
• PM checklists
• Inspection reports
• Utilize maintenance systems (e.g., VIMS, SIS, or site tracking tools)
• Ensure all work is recorded clearly for traceability and planning
Safety & Compliance
• Complete and follow FLRA requirements prior to all tasks
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including:
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Working around operating equipment
• Cold weather safety protocols
• Maintain strong housekeeping standards in all work areas
• Follow through on identified hazards, do what was committed in the FLRA
Equipment Scope
Work is performed on heavy mobile mining equipment, including:
• Haul Trucks (e.g., 793 series)
• Loaders (e.g., 988, 992, 994)
• Dozers (e.g., D10)
• Excavators, Graders, and support equipment

Main Qualifications


• Experience in heavy equipment lubrication or maintenance preferred
• Basic mechanical knowledge of diesel and hydraulic systems
• Ability to work independently in remote environments
• Valid driver’s license
